Manitoba Government Offers $300 Rebate for Security Equipment Purchase in Budget 2024

Are you a homeowner or small business owner in Manitoba looking to enhance your security measures? Well, you’re in luck! The Manitoba government has just announced a $300 rebate for the purchase of security equipment as part of Budget 2024.

Justice Minister Matt Wiebe emphasized the importance of feeling safe in our homes and communities, stating that this rebate is a step towards building a culture of safety throughout the province. By taking advantage of this rebate, individuals can equip their properties with security cameras, alarm systems, motion detectors, reinforced doors or windows, and more, all while saving some money in the process.

One homeowner, Anamika Deb, shared her experience of feeling anxious in her own community after a vandalism incident, highlighting the importance of having additional security measures in place. The security system rebate comes as a relief to many Manitobans who are looking to protect their homes and businesses.

If you’re interested in applying for the rebate, keep in mind that purchases made after Sept. 1, 2023, are eligible. The application system will launch in June and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Remember, the rebate can apply to multiple expenses for a single property or business as long as they do not exceed the $300 threshold.
