UNOCT/UNCCT Aids South and Southeast Asia in Combating Terrorist WMD Threats
The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and its Centre for Counter-Terrorism (UNCCT) are providing crucial support to South and Southeast Asian countries in their efforts to counter the terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and materials such as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) substances. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance regional security and build the capacity of these nations to prevent and respond to the threats posed by terrorism involving WMD and CBRNE materials. The collaborative effort underscores the importance of international cooperation in safeguarding global peace and security.
