Kissimmee Utility Authority Unveils 2024 Osceola Hurricane Preparedness Guide
The Kissimmee Utility Authority has unveiled the 2024 Osceola Hurricane Preparedness Guide, a crucial resource for Osceola County residents as they gear up for an “extremely active” Atlantic Hurricane Season, with forecasts predicting 23 named storms, 11 hurricanes, and five major hurricanes. This free, bilingual guide, available both online and in print, is a collaborative effort involving KUA, Osceola County, the cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud, Toho Water Authority, and the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. KUA President Brian Horton emphasized the importance of early preparation, assuring residents that KUA’s nearly 300 skilled employees are ready to respond to severe weather emergencies. Residents can obtain the guide in English and Spanish from KUA’s website or pick up a printed copy at KUA’s Carroll Street lobby in Kissimmee.
