Jammu: Supplementary Charge-Sheet Filed Against Two Terrorists for Rajouri Attacks
The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir filed a supplementary charge-sheet on Friday against two individuals implicated in a series of terrorist activities in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. The charge-sheet was submitted to a special court in Jammu. The individuals named in the charge-sheet are Mohd Qasim, also known as ‘Salman’ or ‘Waseem’, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative who went to Pakistan in 1990 for arms training, and Talib Hussain Shah, who was previously captured in the Reasi district with advanced weaponry, as stated by an agency spokesperson.
The charges against them include involvement in terrorist acts such as assassinations, a grenade attack, and the placement of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in populated areas, which resulted in considerable damage to public infrastructure. Shah, hailing from Rajouri, and his accomplice Faisal Ahmad Dar from Pulwama, were detained by villagers in the Reasi district in July 2022 and subsequently handed over to the police. The authorities confiscated two AK assault rifles, a pistol, seven grenades, and a significant quantity of ammunition from them.
The accused were found to have received substantial shipments of arms, ammunition, and other military supplies through drone deliveries in Lamberi, Rajouri. These supplies were then transported to Kandi Budhal for terrorist operations under the direction of their handlers in Pakistan, the spokesperson elaborated.
The primary charge-sheet in this case was filed by the SIA on December 29 of the previous year. Further investigations led to the arrest of two additional LeT associates who admitted to participating in various terrorist activities and assisting in the movement of arms and ammunition from Lamberi to Kandi Budhal, in coordination with Shah. These associates had willingly joined the LeT, driven by the influence of Pakistani operatives, according to the spokesperson.
