In Trion, a truck transporting anhydrous ammonia to Mount Vernon Mills experienced a leak around 10 P.M., prompting the driver to pull over. Multiple agencies, including the Trion Fire Department, Chattanooga Fire Department Hazmat 1, Special Operations Division, and Hamilton County Hazmat Team, responded to contain and clean up the spill. The incident led to the shutdown of several streets and the evacuation of nearby homes, with displaced residents taking shelter at a local recreation center. By 12:15 A.M. on Thursday, the leak was successfully stopped, and all units returned to service. Law enforcement managed traffic redirection throughout the operation.
