Beryl’s Path of Destruction and Future Landfall in Texas

Former hurricane Beryl, which has traveled over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico, is preparing for its final landfall in Texas. Expected to hit the lower or middle Texas coast as a Category 1 hurricane Sunday night into Monday, Beryl poses risks of damaging winds, life-threatening storm surges, and heavy rains that could lead to flooding. The storm, currently a disorganized tropical storm with 60 mph winds, is expected to intensify before landfall. Areas like Corpus Christi are at high risk, with potential impacts reaching as far as Houston. Beryl has already caused significant damage and fatalities in the Caribbean and Yucatán Peninsula.
