On May 7, 2024, the Boise Police Department was alerted to an alarming event that occurred the previous day, around 5:25 pm. A report detailed an incident involving a young girl who was approached by an adult male while she was playing outside an apartment complex located on the 500 block of S. Curtis Road. The man, described as a black adult male, attempted to coax the girl into his car with the pretense of taking her to her mother. Despite her refusal, he forcibly placed her in his vehicle and drove away from the scene, only to return her to the apartment complex shortly after. The girl’s family reported the incident the following morning, prompting an immediate investigation by the Boise Police. Thankfully, the girl was unharmed and is currently receiving support and services alongside her family. The Boise Police Special Victim’s Unit is actively investigating the case and pursuing leads.

**Suspect Description:**
The suspect is a black male adult, primarily bald with short black hair on the sides and back of his head. He has a mustache, was seen wearing sunglasses, and is noted for having two prominent front teeth.

**Vehicle Description:**
The suspect’s vehicle is a small black sedan or passenger car.

Additionally, the Boise Police Department has received two other reports of child enticement in the vicinity:

– On March 17, 2024, a call was made regarding a suspect near a different apartment complex on the 5800 block of W. Kootenai Lane. This individual attempted to lure a boy and a girl with a request for help. The children escaped, and the suspect, described as possibly Middle Eastern with darker skin and dark hair, fled the scene. A white van seen in the area may be associated with this suspect.

– On December 12, 2023, at the same apartment complex on the 500 block of S. Curtis Road, another suspect attempted to entice two girls into his car. The girls did not comply, and the suspect, described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, clean-shaven, wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, and speaking in broken English with an accent, left the area. His vehicle is described as a gray or dark gray older model sedan with tinted windows. Despite surveillance efforts following the December 13, 2023, report, no leads were found.

Following the May 7 report, the Boise Police have conducted interviews, collected video evidence, and are continuing to follow up on leads. The department urges anyone with information about these incidents to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790. They also encourage the public to report any similar suspicious activities by calling 911.

The Boise Police Department also offers safety tips for parents and children, emphasizing the importance of discussing stranger awareness, the empowerment to refuse and seek help, identifying safe places, and the benefits of staying in groups, especially during commutes to school or the bus stop.
