David Cameron Criticizes BBC for Not Labeling Hamas as “Terrorists” Following Hostage Death Announcement

Lord David Cameron has confronted the BBC regarding its reluctance to label Hamas as “terrorists” following the group’s announcement that a British-Israeli hostage had passed away. The former Prime Minister criticized the broadcasting corporation for its terminology in the aftermath of the tragic events of October 7, during an appearance on Laura Kuenssberg’s show on Sunday, May 12.

He called on the broadcaster to reconsider how it refers to Hamas, especially after the group released a video that showed a British-Israeli hostage, indicating the individual had died in Gaza, an act Cameron described as “callous.”

Cameron mentioned that he was unable to provide any new information regarding the situation of Nadav Popplewell, as the Foreign Office is still looking into the matter. Hamas had declared on Saturday that the 51-year-old had succumbed to injuries sustained from an Israeli airstrike about a month prior.
