Highway 99 Incident Causes Major Traffic Delays in Fresno>

In Fresno, California, a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 99 caused a major traffic jam after pipes spilled from a Ford F-250’s flatbed trailer into the opposite lane. The incident occurred south of the Highway 180 interchange on Friday morning. The pipes led a Peterbilt tractor-trailer to go up an embankment and a Freightliner truck to spill diesel fuel onto the highway. Four other vehicles also struck the pipes, but no serious injuries were reported. CHP officers contained the leaking diesel before it reached a water drain, and the Fresno Fire Department HAZMAT team worked to clean up the spill. Both eastbound and westbound Highway 180 connector ramps to southbound Highway 99 are closed, with southbound traffic backed up to Clinton Avenue. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes. The duration of the closure is currently unknown.
