Summary:
Haiti experienced over 60 earthquakes in May, with magnitudes ranging from 1.1 to 3.3 on the Richter scale. Observations from networks in Cuba, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic reported that 63 earthquakes had magnitudes of 3 or less, and 25 of these occurred at depths of 10 kilometers or less. Notably, 20 earthquakes took place at sea, with seven occurring along the northern fault, posing a potential tsunami risk under certain conditions. The majority of the earthquakes were concentrated in the northwest (21), west (18), Nippes (10), and southeast (7) departments.
