Kalispell Man Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping Will Not Face Charges

Kalispell police have announced that a man arrested on Wednesday evening will not face kidnapping charges. Aaron Douglas Kupka, 38, from Kalispell, was initially arrested following reports that he attempted to entice a 16-year-old boy into his vehicle at a Town Pump location. However, subsequent developments in the investigation led the Kalispell Police Department (KPD) to inform the Flathead County Attorney’s Office that they will not be pursuing the attempted kidnapping charge against Kupka. Despite this, Kupka will remain incarcerated due to a probation violation.

In a twist to the case, the 16-year-old boy involved has now been charged with making a false police report. Given his minor status, the KPD has stated that only limited information can be disclosed about his case.
