Kano State Deputy Governor Refutes Security Threat Claims
The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdulsalam, has assured that there is no security threat in Kano, declaring it one of the safest places in West Africa. This statement was made during the opening of the 2024 Law Week Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Kano. Abdulsalam criticized the misinformation regarding the state’s security status, urging people to spread the word about Kano’s safety. His comments were in response to concerns over the cancellation of developmental events in Kano due to perceived security issues. The Chief Justice of Kano State, Dije Abdu Aboki, also echoed these sentiments, highlighting the negative impact of such cancellations on the development of the legal profession in the state. Both officials have called on the NBA to help correct the misconceptions about Kano’s security situation.
