Kazakhstan Delists Taliban to Boost Economic Ties with Afghanistan
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan announced that the country has officially removed the Taliban regime from its terrorist list to foster economic cooperation with Afghanistan. This statement was made during his meeting with the speakers of the chambers of parliaments from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states. Tokayev highlighted the importance of trade and economic relations with Afghanistan and acknowledged the Taliban regime as a long-term factor in the region. He emphasized that engaging Afghanistan in interregional connections is a strategic priority for Kazakhstan, according to a report by News.Az citing TASS.
