CSULA Student Group Promotes Terrorist Organization in Fundraiser Post
The Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) has stirred controversy by promoting a fundraiser on Instagram that features Leila Khaled, a known plane hijacker, and the logo of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a group designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. The Instagram post, made on Monday, advertises the event scheduled for June 8 at an anti-Israel campus occupation at CSULA. Khaled is infamous for her attempts to hijack two planes in 1969 and 1970, one of which was an El Al flight from Amsterdam to New York City, where she was subdued by armed guards onboard. Campus Reform has sought comments from SJP at CSULA regarding the destination of the fundraiser’s proceeds, as well as a statement from CSULA.
