Punjab Police Thwart Major Terrorist Plot by Arresting 15 Militants
In a significant crackdown on terrorism, Pakistani law enforcement, particularly the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab, have successfully detained 15 militants linked to various banned organizations, including Daesh (ISIS), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ). These arrests, made across several cities in Punjab province such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, among others, prevented major terrorist attacks planned within the region. The operation led to the seizure of explosives, weapons, and ammunition, demonstrating the high level of threat and the militants’ preparedness for large-scale attacks. This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the CTD to dismantle terrorist networks, following the arrest of 44 alleged terrorists last month. The success underscores the importance of intelligence, inter-agency cooperation, and public vigilance in combating the persistent threat of militancy in Pakistan.
