Man Arrested by Kalispell Police for Alleged Kidnapping Attempt

On Wednesday night in Kalispell, 38-year-old Aaron Douglas Kupka was arrested for attempting to kidnap a 16-year-old boy at the Town Pump gas station. The incident, which occurred on May 8 at around 10:19 p.m., involved Kupka trying to physically pull the teenager into his vehicle. Witnesses’ accounts led to Kupka’s arrest and subsequent detention at the Flathead County Detention Center on charges of kidnapping and a probation violation. This arrest follows Kupka’s previous charge in July 2022 for felony assault with a weapon, for which he was serving a deferred sentence. The case remains under investigation, and authorities are seeking witnesses.
