Marine Corps Prevents Two Jordanian Individuals from Breaching Quantico Base Security

Marine Corps Base Quantico Guards Thwart Unauthorized Entry by Foreign Nationals

Recently, Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia experienced a security incident when two foreign nationals attempted to drive through the base’s security gate without authorization. According to a statement from Marine Corps spokesman Kyle Olson, the incident occurred on May 3 when the individuals, driving a truck and claiming to be subcontractors for Amazon making a delivery to a U.S. Post Office in Quantico Town, were stopped by base sentries at the Fuller Road Gate. Lacking proper credentials and affiliation with the base, they were directed to a holding area for vetting.

Despite being ordered to turn around, the driver attempted to continue through the gate. Quick action by the officers, including deploying vehicle denial barriers, prevented further access to the base and led to the detention of the individuals. They were subsequently handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ICE confirmed that Marine Corps Base officials notified their Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Washington, D.C., leading to the arrest of the two Jordanian nationals by deportation officers. They remain in custody pending removal proceedings. Despite rumors reported by Potomac Local News about one individual’s recent U.S. southern border crossing and potential terrorism watch list status, an ICE official stated there is currently no evidence linking the suspects to terrorism.

Marine Corps Base Quantico is a critical site for the Marine Corps, hosting the Officer Candidate School, Marine Corps University, and the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, as well as the FBI’s training academy.
