Massachusetts Man Faces Charges After Crashing into Multiple Objects
A Massachusetts man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after causing a major crash in Clinton, resulting in significant damage and a gas leak. The incident occurred on Sunday morning around 7:00 a.m., prompting emergency services to rush to the scene at 980-990 Main St. The crash involved a single vehicle that hit three houses, a telephone pole, and a parked car, causing electrical outages and a large gas leak. This led to road closures and evacuations in the area while National Grid Gas and Electric addressed the situation.
The 22-year-old driver, described as assaultive and uncooperative, faces charges including speeding, unlicensed operation, operating under the influence, multiple counts of destruction of property, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. The suspect’s name has not been released.
Multiple departments and agencies collaborated to secure the scene and ensure public safety, including the Clinton Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, National Grid, Lancaster Police Department, Clinton Building Inspector, Clinton Animal Control, and the Clinton Department of Public Works.
