Navi Mumbai Residents Report Gas Smell, No Leak Found

Residents of Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra reported a gas smell on the afternoon of September 28, prompting emergency teams from Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) to conduct inspections. Despite using gas detection equipment in various areas where complaints were lodged, MGL reported no findings of natural gas leakage and no breaches in their pipeline system were identified. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) also liaised with MIDC industries to check for chemical leakages, and fire department officials confirmed no fire incidents. The complaints originated from areas including Nerul, Belapur-CBD, and Kharghar.
