Netanyahu Aide Slams Biden’s Gaza Strategy

Netanyahu Aide Voices Concerns Over Biden’s Gaza Ceasefire Plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aide has confirmed that Israel will conditionally accept a U.S. proposal, crafted by President Joe Biden, to end the ongoing war in Gaza. Despite acknowledging the plan’s flaws and the need for further work, Israel’s chief foreign policy advisor, Ophir Falk, indicated a willingness to proceed with the agreement primarily to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza for the past eight months. The proposed plan involves a three-phase process aimed at achieving a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and discussions on halting hostilities for the release of remaining captives. However, the acceptance comes with stipulations, including the demand for the destruction of Hamas as a terrorist organization, a condition that has sparked threats from key government figures to leave the coalition if not met, potentially destabilizing Netanyahu’s administration. Opposition leaders, however, have signaled support for the deal, emphasizing its importance for national security and the well-being of hostages and citizens in affected regions.
