Pakistan Shares Attack Probe with Afghan Taliban

Pakistani Delegation Meets Taliban to Address Cross-Border Terrorism Concerns

**Pakistan Urges Taliban to Take Decisive Action Against Militants**
In a significant meeting held in Kabul, a high-level Pakistani delegation met with Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities, calling for decisive action against militants accused of conducting cross-border attacks from Afghan soil. This meeting comes in the wake of a suicide car bombing in March that claimed the lives of five Chinese engineers working on a hydropower project in northwestern Pakistan, with suspicions pointing towards an Afghan national as the perpetrator.
The Pakistani delegation, led by Muhammad Khurram Agha, shared investigation findings with their Afghan counterparts, urging the Taliban to assist in apprehending those responsible for the attack on Chinese nationals. The Afghan officials, represented by Deputy Taliban Interior Minister Muhammad Nabi Omari, pledged to review the findings and work towards resolving the issue.
The discussions also highlighted the involvement of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a globally designated terrorist organization, in various attacks, including the one on Chinese workers. Despite Islamabad’s claims of TTP militants finding sanctuary in Afghanistan post-Taliban takeover, Afghan authorities have consistently denied these allegations.
Both nations agreed to stay engaged in combating terrorism and addressing Pakistan’s security concerns, amidst Pakistani military expressing grave concerns over continued cross-border violations and the use of Afghan territory for orchestrating terrorism against Pakistan.
This meeting underscores the complex dynamics in the region, with both countries acknowledging the need to work collaboratively against the shared threat of terrorism, while navigating the challenges of mutual distrust and accusations.
