Russian Foreign Ministry Accuses US of Funding Assassination Attempt on Putin

In a recent statement, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, claimed that an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which Ukrainian secret service director Kirill Budanov discussed, was funded by the United States. Budanov had admitted that Ukrainian Military Intelligence (GRU) had planned an attack on Putin. Zakharova criticized the U.S. for using its funds to support Ukrainian military operations instead of maintaining its own law and order. She accused the U.S. of creating a “terrorist structure” in Ukraine through uncontrolled financing and weapon supplies, and called for the U.S. to reconsider its policy of inciting hatred and sponsoring terrorism. Zakharova’s comments were made on her Telegram channel.
