Russia Blames Daesh-K for Moscow Attack

Daesh Claims Responsibility for Deadly Moscow Concert Hall Attack as Russia Alleges Ukrainian Involvement

In a tragic event that shook Moscow, a concert hall attack on March 22 was confirmed to have been executed by the Daesh terrorist group, resulting in 144 fatalities and 360 injuries. The assault on Crocus City Hall was initially claimed by Daesh Khorasan Province (Daesh-K), despite initial accusations from Moscow pointing toward Ukraine’s involvement. Alexander Bortnikov, the chief of the Federal Security Service (FSB), disclosed that the attack was orchestrated by Daesh-K, suggesting the possibility of Ukrainian military intelligence’s direct implication, with terrorists reportedly moving towards the Ukrainian border post-attack.
The connection to Turkey emerged as the four attackers had briefly visited the country to renew their Russian residency permits. Despite some claims of the terrorists being radicalized in Turkey, Turkish security sources argued that their radicalization took place in Russia, emphasizing the short duration of their stay in Turkey. The lack of a search warrant for the terrorists facilitated their travel between Russia and Turkey, with specific details of their travel and stay in Turkey provided, including dates and hotel accommodations. Turkey maintains its stance of combating all forms of terrorism, including Daesh, PKK/YPG, and al-Qaida, with unwavering determination.
