Teenager Charged with Terrorism Offence After Incident at MP’s Office
A 19-year-old named Jordan Patten has been charged with a terrorism offence after entering Newcastle MP Tim Crakanthorp’s office armed with knives and tactical gear. Patten, reportedly inspired by the Christchurch mass shooter, circulated a 200-page manifesto online detailing his planned attacks. A seven-minute video showed him in tactical attire before the incident. No one was harmed as he briefly entered and exited the office without engaging staff. Patten was denied bail and faces court again on August 21. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat, and the incident is under investigation by the Joint Counter Terrorism Team.
