Widespread Flooding Disrupts Wirral Train Services

Railway Disruption Due to Heavy Rain and Obstacles on Chester and Ellesmere Port Line

**Railway Disruption Due to Severe Weather Conditions**
The railway lines at Hooton have been severely affected by flooding following heavy rainfall, causing significant disruptions on the Chester and Ellesmere Port line. Additionally, a fallen tree at Little Sutton is causing further interruptions specifically on the Ellesmere Port line.
As a result, train services heading towards Ellesmere Port are being either cancelled or will terminate at Hooton, with similar adjustments made for services to Chester, which may end at Rock Ferry. To mitigate the inconvenience, a rail replacement bus service has been arranged to operate between Rock Ferry and Chester, as well as between Rock Ferry and Ellesmere Port, until the situation improves.
The disruption follows an amber weather warning issued by the Met Office, forecasting “heavy and persistent” rainfall leading to potential “flooding and disruption” in the area. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated on the latest travel advisories.
