Tornados Hit Louisville Area on Independence Day
HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — On the Fourth of July, two tornadoes touched down in the Louisville area, with one confirmed near Corydon in Harrison County, Indiana. The EF-0 tornado brought winds up to 85 miles per hour, toppling power lines and trees. Residents like Leo Book and Sophia West recounted the storm’s sudden impact, noting significant debris obstructing roads and driveways. Despite the strong winds, the community quickly mobilized to clear the damage. EMA Director Mike Kurz expressed relief that there were no injuries and only minor damage, especially given the holiday.
