IDF Operations in Gaza: Key Updates and Statistics
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported on Tuesday that almost half of Hamas’s 30,000-strong terrorist force and three battalions remain in Gaza, still armed with long-range rockets capable of reaching Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. According to military data, the Shijaiyah Battalion saw a significant reduction in numbers and munitions after the ground operation last year. The IDF has been operating in Gaza for 263 days, eliminating around 14,000 terrorists, including high-ranking commanders. With precise intelligence, the IDF has targeted numerous terror infrastructures and missile launch sites, striking approximately 37,000 targets from the air. Efforts also focus on dismantling Hamas’s underground system and preventing the restoration of terrorist capabilities. Despite heavy losses, Hamas continues to manage munitions and terrorists, with some battalions yet to be engaged. Additionally, Operation Arnon rescued four hostages in June, involving significant military firepower. The Philadelphi Corridor operation continues, addressing smuggling infrastructure.
