IDF Airstrike in Rafah Kills Two Senior Hamas Officials
In a recent airstrike in western Rafah, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of two high-ranking Hamas officials. The IDF identified the targets as Yassin Rabia, the Chief of Staff for Hamas’ operations in Judea and Samaria, and Khaled Nagar, another senior figure within the organization. The IDF accuses Rabia of orchestrating numerous terror attacks against IDF soldiers in the early 2000s and alleges that Nagar was behind shooting attacks and other terrorist activities in the same region, in addition to transferring funds for terrorist operations in the Gaza Strip. Nagar was also implicated in deadly attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers between 2001-2003. The strike, which took place on May 26, 2024, also resulted in the tragic loss of at least 50 lives, including civilians, as reported by Action Aid UK.
