Terror Group Admits Sabotaging CPEC, Minister Claims

TTP Collaborates with Separatist Groups to Disrupt CPEC Projects in Balochistan

In a press conference held in Quetta, Balochistan’s Home Minister Mir Zia Langrove disclosed that Maulvi Mansoor, a senior commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), revealed his group’s collaboration with separatist factions like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to disrupt the $60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. Mansoor, recently arrested in Balochistan, confessed on video that TTP and BLA are involved in kidnappings and terror attacks, sending abducted individuals to Afghanistan and falsely reporting them as missing. This arrest follows the federal cabinet’s approval of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, a renewed national counter-terrorism initiative. The government’s action comes in response to a surge in terrorist activities, with recent reports indicating significant casualties and attacks, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
