Fort Liberty Addresses Pro-Life ‘Terrorist’ Label Controversy

Fort Liberty Faces Criticism for Training Slide Labeling Pro-Life Groups as Terrorists

Fort Liberty, a U.S. Army base, is facing backlash after a training slideshow referred to pro-life organizations as “terrorist organizations.” A photo of the controversial slide has circulated on social media, showing pro-life groups like National Right to Life and Operation Rescue listed under the “Terrorist Groups” category. This slide was used to train soldiers on access control points at the base.
In response to the controversy, Fort Liberty issued a statement on Facebook clarifying that the slides were not approved by the appropriate authorities and do not represent the views of the U.S. Army or the Department of Defense. The statement also mentioned that the slides were created by a local garrison employee and will no longer be used. Future training materials will undergo a review process to ensure alignment with current DoD anti-terrorism guidelines.
WRAL News has inquired with Fort Liberty about the number of people who attended the training, the proper vetting process, and why it was not followed in this instance.
