Incident:

  • A Cessna 152 training aircraft, carrying an instructor pilot and a student pilot, overshot the runway at Plaridel Airport.
  • The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. during a landing on runway 17, which continued to runway 35 without decelerating.
  • An attempt to take off again was unsuccessful due to insufficient airspeed, resulting in the plane hitting the airport’s perimeter fence and a nearby home.
    Injuries:
  • One of the pilots sustained minor injuries.
    Investigation:
  • The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) will conduct separate investigations through its licensing and certification department and the aircraft accident investigation and inquiry board.
